What is an ATA?

An Apprenticeship Training Agency (ATA) is commonly compared to GTAs however they are very different. An ATA acts as the full time employer of an apprentice. They work to get an apprentice work placements throughout their training period. This can be useful for employers who cannot commit to being able to offer a full time vacancy to an apprentice.

Useful information about ATAs

1. ATA is the employer, they may provide the training or outsource to training providers.
2. Possibly suitable to micro-employers, domiciliary care or small providers who agree to share an apprentice.
3. Learner does not have direct employment from a care provider but instead is guaranteed employment through the ATA
